Realme has officially announced the imminent release of the Realme GT 5 Pro smartphone, which is the Pro version of the GT 5 that made its debut in August 2023. The BBK Group-owned brand teased that the GT 5 Pro will be different. The first Realme smartphone with a periscope lens. During a recent conference in China, Realme unveiled the detailed specifications of the periscope telephoto sensor that will be integrated into the upcoming GT 5 Pro.

Realme has officially announced its upcoming mid-range smartphone with a periscope lens, confirming its imminent debut at an event. The device’s fast charging capabilities were revealed in China’s 3C certification, and it has also been spotted in two configurations on Geekbench, hinting at an imminent launch. A recent teaser shared by Realme on Weibo has revealed the launch date of the device in China.

The Realme GT 5 Pro launch is scheduled to take place on December 7 in Shenzhen, China, the event will start at 14:00 China time. The event will start at 11:30 am for viewers in India. Realme is expected to livestream the GT 5 Pro launch event. Pre-bookings for the device are likely to be offered through JD.com in the coming days.

Realme has officially announced through a teaser that its upcoming device will be equipped with a 50MP Sony IMX 890 periscope telephoto sensor. This advanced sensor will have both Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) technologies. The device will have a substantial 1/1.56-inch sensor size, offering support for an impressive 120x digital zoom as well as a powerful 2.7x optical zoom capability.

The Chinese OEM’s upcoming Realme smartphone is set to offer the ability to capture images in RAW mode, as revealed by the company. Realme has also verified that both the primary and periscope telephoto lenses will support shooting DOL-HDR images. As per earlier reports, the device is expected to be equipped with a 50MP Sony LYT808 primary lens and an 8MP OV08D10 ultra-wide-angle lens.

The 24GB model of the device achieved a single-core score of 2225 points and a multi-core score of 6663 points in the test.
