On Wednesday, Google Launched its latest smartphones, the Google Pixel 8 and Google Pixel 8 Pro, during the Made by Google 2023 hardware launch event. These new devices are equipped with a Tensor G3 chip, come with up to 256GB of built-in storage, and run on the Android 14 operating system right out of the box. The standard Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro both offer support for Google’s AI-powered features like Photo Unblur and Live Translate, and Google has committed to providing software updates for these phones for a period of seven years. These smartphones feature several AI enhancements applied to their cameras and on-device functionality.

The Pixel 8 series maintains the same design as its predecessor, with one notable change being the consolidation of the camera arrangement. Additionally, Google has embraced sustainability by crafting the Pixel 8 series entirely from recycled aluminum, while also incorporating a minimum of 18 percent recycled content into the manufacturing of these new phones.

The Pixel 8 Pro has Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on the back with a polished aluminum frame, while the Pixel 8 has Gorilla Glass Victus protection on the back with an aluminum frame. The Pixel 8 Pro is available in two stunning color options, Obsidian and Bay, while the Pixel 8 offers a selection of three attractive colors: Obsidian, Hazel, and Rose.

The Pixel 8 features a compact 6.2-inch FHD+ OLED screen with an impressive 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 2,000 nits. Notably, it also has an always-on display feature. Notably, it offers a remarkable 42% increase in peak brightness compared to its predecessor. Additionally, it includes Corning Gorilla Glass Victus for better display protection.

On the other hand, the Pixel 8 Pro has a 6.7-inch QHD+ OLED display with a resolution of 1344 x 2992 pixels, offering a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and an impressive peak brightness of 2,400 nits, which is a significant 60% increase over its predecessor. Additionally, this display supports the Always-On feature and is protected by Corning Glass Victus 2 for added durability.

Both smartphones are powered by Google Tensor G3 chipset and the Titan M2 security chip. They are also paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 TYPE storage. Additionally, the devices are equipped with Immortalis-G715s MC10 GPU for handling graphics-intensive tasks. Both smartphones run Android 14 out-of-the-box. It will also receive 7 years of OS, security, and Feature Drop updates.

The Pixel 8 sports a 50-megapixel primary camera with Super Res zoom capabilities of up to 8x, complemented by both electronic image stabilization (EIS) and optical image stabilization (OIS). Additionally, it offers a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera. For selfies, the Pixel 8 retains the 10.5-megapixel front camera. The camera’s feature includes Ultra HDR, Magic Editor, Magic Eraser, Photo Unblur, Face Unblur, Night Sight, Astrophotography, Dual Exposure Control, and Live HDR+.

The Pixel 8 Pro has a powerful camera setup, consisting of a 50MP primary camera, a 48MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 48MP telephoto lens with Super Res zoom capability that allows you to zoom up to 30x. On the front, there is a 10.5MP selfie camera. The device offers a range of advanced camera features including Magic Editor, Best Take, Magic Eraser, Photo Unblur, Motion Auto-focus, Dual Exposure Control, and Live HDR+ to capture stunning photos and enhance your photography experience.

The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro come with battery capacities of 4,575mAh and 5,050mAh respectively. They are equipped with 27W and 30W wired charging capabilities, and both models also offer support for wireless charging, as confirmed by Google. Notably, the Pixel 8 Pro can get 50 percent charged in just 30 minutes and a full 100 percent charge in 100 minutes. In comparison, the regular Pixel 8 takes a little longer to reach 50 percent charge.

The handset offers various connectivity features including Wi-Fi 7, 5G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C 3.2 port. Additionally, it is equipped with a variety of sensors, such as an accelerometer, barometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, proximity sensor, and a fingerprint scanner for secure biometric authentication.

The Pixel 8 Pro offers Pro Controls, which allow you to adjust settings like shutter speed and ISO, and it’s capable of capturing high-resolution 50MP images in both JPEG and RAW formats.

The Pixel 8 series introduces an innovative feature called Audio Magic Eraser, which effectively reduces unwanted background noise in video recording. Additionally, Video Boost is coming soon to the Pixel 8 Pro, a feature designed to enhance video quality by adjusting aspects like colors, lighting, stabilization, and grain reduction.

Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro Price in India, Offers and Availability

Pixel 8 is priced at Rs. Its price in India is Rs 75,999 and it will be offered in a single storage variant of 128GB. The color options available for this model are Hazel, Obsidian, and Rose.

On the other hand, Pixel 8 Pro is available at a price of Rs. Rs 1,06,999 for the 128GB storage configuration. The Pro version comes in bay, obsidian, and porcelain color options.

The handsets will be available to purchase via Flipkart. Pre-orders for the smartphone will begin on, October 4.
