Samsung unveiled the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 during the Galaxy Unpacked event on 26 July 2023 event held in Seoul, South Korea. it’s launched as the successor to the Galaxy Z Flip 4. This new clamshell foldable smartphone boasts notable enhancements, such as a redesigned flex hinge, a larger cover display, and an upgraded chipset. Powering the device is a custom Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform for the Galaxy, with overclocked CPU and GPU cores. The phone has a water-resistant IPX8 build and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on both the display and rear glass. A 3,700mAh battery provides the necessary power for the Galaxy Z Flip 5.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 flaunts a 6.7-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,640 pixels) Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex Inner Display with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and 22:9 aspect ratio. Notably, the primary display remains the same as last year’s variant. However, the new handset boasts of a significant improvement with its 3.4-inch Super AMOLED folder-sized Cover Display, which offers a resolution of 720×748 pixels, a refresh rate of 60Hz, and a pixel density of 306ppi. That’s a big upgrade compared to the Galaxy Z Flip 4’s 1.9-inch 260 x 512 cover display. Both the display and the rear panel of the device are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection, ensuring added durability and flexibility.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 is powered by the 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, combined with Adreno 740 GPU to deliver exceptional performance for high-end gaming. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 sports a dual rear camera setup that houses a 12-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 lens. It is accompanied by a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera with dual pixel autofocus and an F/2.2 lens with a 123-degree field of view. The wide-angle camera also incorporates Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) for steady and blur-free shots. For selfies and video calls, the device packs a 10-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.2 lens and an 85-degree wide field of view. The selfie camera is thoughtfully placed at the top of the folding display for convenient access and capturing great self-portraits.
Coming to videography, you can shoot 4K videos at ( 30fps/60fps ) with the primary sensor and 4K videos (30fps) with the selfie sensor as well.

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 5 is equipped with a 3,700mAh battery with 25W charging support. According to the company’s claim, the battery can be charged from 0 to 50 percent in just 30 minutes. Additionally, the phone supports Fast Wireless Charging 2.0 and Wireless PowerShare, giving users convenient wireless charging options.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 Connectivity and Sensors
The device offers multiple connectivity options including 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, barometer, gyro sensor, geomagnetic sensor, hall sensor, proximity sensor, and light sensor. It also houses a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for authentication.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 Price, Availability, and Offers
Samsung recently announced the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 with a starting price of $999 (roughly Rs. 82,000). This latest handset comes in a variety of colors including blue, cream, graphite, grey, green, lavender, mint, and yellow.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5 will go on sale in select global markets from August 11. Notably, the previous model, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 was priced at Rs. 89,999 in India.
