The UK-based startup, led by OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, launched its second smartphone, the Nothing Phone 2. The new device is equipped with a flagship-grade Snapdragon chipset and a bigger battery than its predecessor. Notably, the smartphone features an upgraded Glyph interface that now supports popular third-party apps such as Uber and Zomato. Nothing Phone 2 Display

The device features a 6.7-inch LTPO OLED display with a 1,080 x 2,412 pixels resolution, which offers full-HD+ visuals. It offers an adaptive refresh rate of 120Hz, which ensures smooth scrolling and transitions. The display has 240Hz touch sampling, a 394 ppi density rate, and a 20:9 aspect ratio. It also features a peak brightness of 1600 nits, providing excellent visibility even in bright outdoor conditions. The display is also equipped with SGS Low Blue Light and HDR10+ certification, which reduces eye strain and enhances the dynamic range of colors. Furthermore, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protects the screen, ensuring durability and resistance against scratches.

Under the hood, Nothing Phone 2 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. According to Nothing, the Phone (2) offers an 80 percent increase in overall performance over the Nothing Phone (1). Along with that, the handset features LPDDR5 RAM type and UFS3.1-type storage ensuring smooth multitasking and quick data access. The smartphone runs on Nothing OS 2.0, which is based on the latest Android 13.

Nothing Phone 2 sports a dual rear camera setup which enables users to capture great photos and videos. It includes a 50-megapixel primary camera with a Sony IMX890 sensor, and both optical image stabilization (OIS) and electronic image stabilization (EIS) for steady shots. Additionally, there is a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with a Samsung jN1 sensor, EIS functionality, wide 114-degree field of view. Notably, as per the company’s claims, the ultra-wide-angle camera also functions as a macro camera, allowing users to capture close-up shots as close as 4cm. On the front is a 32-megapixel camera with a Sony IMX615 sensor for selfies and making video calls. Supported video modes on the Nothing Phone 2 include 4K at 60fps, 1080p at 30 or 60fps, and live HDR at 4K and 30fps. You can also record videos in slow motion at 480fps and time-lapse videos at 4K resolution.

The Nothing Phone 2 features an upgraded 4,700mAh battery capacity over its predecessor. It comes with 45W wired charging capability and supports 15W Qi wireless charging and 5W reverse charging. According to the company, the handset can be fully charged in just 55 minutes using the wired charging option. For cable-free charging, using 15W Qi wireless charging, the phone can be fully charged in about 130 minutes.

Nothing Phone 2 Connectivity and Sensors

The Nothing Phone 2 offers a wide range of connectivity options, including WiFi 6, 5G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, GPS/ A-GPS, NavIC, and a USB Type-C port. It is equipped with multiple sensors such as an accelerometer, two ambient light sensors (front and rear), an e-compass, a gyroscope, a proximity sensor, and an in-display fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication.

Nothing Phone 2 price in India starts from Rs. 44,999 for the base model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The phone also comes in higher variants including 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB priced at Rs. 49,999 and Rs. 54,999 respectively. It is available in two color options, Dark Gray and White. The phone will go on sale on July 21 and will be available for purchase via Flipkart and select retail outlets.
