Google is preparing to unveil its Pixel 8 series along with the much-awaited Pixel Watch 2 at the ‘Made by Google’ event on October 4. Notably, the Pixel 8 lineup, which includes the standard Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, will be accessible to customers in India as well. Google has officially announced that pre-orders for these phones will begin the day after the launch event on Flipkart. Flipkart has consistently served as the exclusive online retail partner for all Pixel releases. It is worth noting that both the Pixel 8 series smartphones are expected to run on the Android 14 operating system and be equipped with Tensor G3 SoC.
On Thursday, September 7, Google teased its upcoming Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones to be launched in India via X (formerly known as Twitter). These flagship devices have been officially announced for pre-order, and interested customers can reserve them via Flipkart from October 5. However, details regarding pricing and the initial sale date are unknown at this time.
Google Pixel 8 Series Specifications (Expected)
The upcoming Pixel 8 series smartphones are expected to run on Android 14 and feature a 120Hz high-refresh-rate display. Google is set to introduce the next-generation Tensor G3 SoC with the Pixel 8 lineup, which will serve as an improvement over the Tensor G2 SoC found in the Pixel 7 series. Additionally, the Pixel 8 Pro is said to come equipped with an upgraded camera sensor and a temperature sensor. In terms of battery capacity, the Pixel 8 Pro is expected to pack a 4,950mAh battery with support for 27W wired fast charging. On the other hand, the Pixel 8 could pack a slightly smaller 4,485mAh battery, which will support 24W wired charging and 12W wireless charging.

On October 4, at 10:00 a.m. local time (7:30 p.m. IST) in New York, Google is set to host its much-awaited Made by Google launch event. In addition to the unveiling of the Pixel 8 series, the event will see the debut of the Pixel Watch 2 and Pixel Buds Pro.
